Commitment to Utility Cost Reduction & Carbon Footprint Management Fuels Business Growth

Hengoed based utility and environmental services consultancy Utility and Environmental Solutions Limited (UES) has strengthened their senior management team and unveiled a new corporate identity following new business wins that are expected to drive annual turnover from £850,000 to £2.4m in 2 years.
Chartered Accountant David Johnson, who joined the business just eight months ago as Financial Controller, has been promoted to General Manager. He will assume responsibility for sales management and service delivery for SME clients.
Steve Thomas, a highly experienced sales manager, joins the team as Senior Sales Executive from the retail group Leekes. He will work alongside Johnson and Business Development Director Andrew Padmore to drive growth in the corporate, SME and public sector market throughout Wales and the West.
UES has also appointed Stephen Mosley to the service delivery team. Mathematics and computing graduate Mosley has extensive experience of the utilities and telecoms market having previously worked for ntl and British Gas.
Accounts Assistant Carlene Pyke also joins the team. She has previously worked for United Welsh Housing Association and Creditsafe.
With some 15 staff and four associate sales managers, the new team starts work at the same time as the introduction of a new corporate identity and website, as developed by Penarth-based Washington Design Consultants and Cardiff-based web development agency SpinDogs.
Established in late 2003 by Andrew Padmore and Andrew Diplock, both previously senior managers of Hyder Plc, UES has a growing portfolio of clients who realise the commercial benefits of reviewing utility costs and reducing environmental impact. Working on a shared benefit basis, the team advises on utility and environmental solutions without risking the profitability of their clients businesses. Core markets include energy, water, waste and telecoms.
As corporate sponsors of the Wales Millennium Centre and corporate members of BITC, key clients include Wales and West Utilities, Wales Millennium Centre, Portsmouth Highbury College, JoJo Maman Bebe and Neath and Port Talbot Recycling Centre.
